Working at the ranch

Simple living
Planning for winter
Looking after guests and riding the mountains is only a part of life at Silver Spur Trails Wilderness Guest Ranch. The cooler nights in September remind us to get the firewood ready for winter.
The ranch uses gravity fed water for  irrigation. With no rain for weeks the irrigation needs some maintenance. Another job for Yrene to look into.
Come and book a "Work and Play" package with us, you won't regret it.

Kids birthday party

Wild West Birthday Party at Silver Spur Trails!  The kids didn't just learn about horses and got to ride, there was much more offered at the ranch. A lesson in archery with a long bow and target shooting were on the program and everybody enjoyed it lots.
The kids also met Abs, the young calf which they helped bottle feed at lunch time.

The birthday party was wound up with a campfire. Everyone cooked their own hot dog on a stick and roasted marshmallows, what a lot of fun!

Silver Spur Trails is hosting kids birthday parties with a difference. Please contact us for more info and visit our webiste http://www.silverspurtrails.ca

Back to the old times

Silver Spur Trails Wilderness Ranch is getting back to the origin of shooting. Kevin spent an afternoon with the Monashee Mountain Men in Salmon Arm on the weekend learning from the professionals and shooting his 50 cal. black powder gun. Black powder, smoke, just like in the Western movies.
You too have the chance to have the experience the old times during a horseback riding vacation at Silver Spur Trails Wilderness Ranch. For more information please visit our Website or call the ranch at 250-547-9869

Day Ranch Adventures

The 1-day or half-day ranch adventure at Silver Spur Trails is a great mini getaway.
The 1-hour or 2-hour mountain trail ride will give you a good taste of of the wilderness surrounding the ranch. The trail leads through large, old growth forests and rugged terrain. Soon you will trust your sure footed mountain horse and fully enjoy the adventure and the nature surrounding you. Moose Mountain is the place to stop for a while to take in the view and click some picture memories. There is a good chance to see some wildlife on this ride.
Back at the ranch, there are some other excitements waiting for you. Always wanted to know how to shoot with a bow and arrow? Archery at the ranch is like going back in time. After some hard practice, everyone will boost their archery skills. Target shooting with an air rifle is also a good way to spend some time.
Enjoy a barbeque dinner on the camp fire, followed by Cowboy coffee and marshmallows. Get your Cowboy spirit out and share some trail stories while sitting around the camp fire.
For more information on the packages please contact www.silverspurtrails.ca

Michaela is from Germany and is a staff member at Silver Spur Trails this season. Not only is Michaela an experienced horse woman, she is also a hard worker helping with all ranch tasks. Today she was busy pruning the fruit trees. Silver Spur Trails has it's own orchard with apple, pear, cherry and plum trees, all organic.
Spring is also the time to get the vegetable garden ready for planting and the  berry bushes have to be pruned. The garlic we planted in fall is peaking out and lets us hope for a good crop.
We like to share our sustainable and healthy lifestyle  with our guests and visitors to the ranch.

A great start of the new season

We had a wonderful family staying at Silver Spur Trails, which was the best start for the new season. The children enjoyed a real hands-on ranch experience with grooming, feeding and riding the horses. How satisfying to watch the children's faces and their smile when they're finally sit on the horse.
We offer B&B accommodation, Ranch-Stay and also  a large variety of outdoor adventures including trail rides (short and extended), archery and black powder shooting, hiking and more. Come out and enjoy some Western hospitality during an authentic Ranch stay.
Please contact the ranch for more information.
